Safeguarding

Welcome to the Safeguarding section of the Derbyshire Scout Association website.

It is here to help you with information and where to go for help and support in any areas of concern over Safeguarding.

The role of County Awareness Coordinator for Safeguarding is to support all Leaders - or any adult involved in Scouting - who, at any time, may have concerns or just need to talk over issues concerning Safeguarding. If you are encountering problems with bullying, harassment, discrimination or just need to share your concerns, please contact the Safeguarding office by using the Contact form on the website.

Please do not put any detailed information about the problem, such as names, etc.

Just give your contact details and a very brief outline of the problem.
The County Coordinator will then get back to you as soon as possible.

Scout Association Review Training

ALL adults with an appointment and any adult with a regular contact with young people MUST have updated Scout Association safeguard training every five years.
This can be undertaken at an event organised by your district or group.

Online Safeguard Review

If you cannot attend a course organised by your district then, with permission from your training adviser, you can do the online course at scoutbase and print off a certificate of completion and send it to the safeguarding coordinator who will add it to the data base. At the moment there is no other method of recording it.
